We Take the Cake is the best choice for wedding cakes for brides in South Florida. My wedding venue in Ft. Lauderdale Beach gave me the option of using them or Edda's Cake Design. When I visited We Take the Cake, Jean and her staff were very attentive and professional. Even though the hotel selections were slim, they took the time to customize my cake to my theme with no trouble and at little cost to me. They also helped to customize my husband's groom's cake. Both cakes looked and tasted phenomenal!! Our guests were in awe and very pleased with the taste! Their cake flavors, icings, and fillings are top-notch and very appealing to any palate (unless you don't like cake!). The other place's cake fell apart in my mouth and they wanted to charge upwards of $600 just to add an adornment around the base tier and a buttercream filling...and my mother and I waited 30 minutes before they could tell us that! Point is, if you want a great cake(s) and professional, stellar service, go to We Take the Cake!! If there was anything that went right on my wedding day, it was having my cakes there on time, beautiful and tasty! I am very keen on good customer service, and I wouldn't write this review if it wasn't true. No matter what, go with We Take the Cake...they will not let you down!!

I ordered a cake for my daughters wedding. It was a very simple cake for 40 people. When the cake arrived it was lopsided/leaning and did not look finished. When the bakery was contacted they offered to come pick it up but it was an hour before the wedding so that was not an option. The cake itself was very heavy & lacked flavor. Definitely very unhappy and the owner was not willing to do much about the situation. Would not recommend them at all.

We tried every cake place in town and were so disappointed in cakes. My mom happened to have a frozen We Take the Cake from her birthday (a month prior) that we tasted, which was still delicious! So we tried out We Take the Cake and it was amazing! I even ordered myself a birthday cake from them before the wedding! The wedding day cake was delicious and communication with them was easy, even when we made a couple of changes about a month prior to the wedding!

Worked with Jean. Very nice and was patient and helpful in determining what my daughter wanted her cake to look like. The cake itself was delicious and our guests commented how great it looked and tasted. The design was cool with tree"vines" wrapping horizontally around each layer of the 3 tiered cake to compliment the flowered tree table centerpieces. highly recommend!

We picked We Take the Cake because it was "included" in with our reception contract. When I called the first time, I didn't get a call back for over a week, I called again - the times were very limited and I had to leave work early to make the appointment that was available since they do not have any evening appointments. During our tasting, we felt like we were being pushed into a flavor that we didn't really want and I almost started to second guess my decision. When we decided on the cake design, I was a little unsure whether or not it would be exactly what we wanted, and the next appointment was also sitting about 2 feet away from me and I felt like our time to pick our wedding cake now included this stranger and I felt uncomfortable asking more questions. The cake design looked pretty at the wedding, it wasn't exactly what we wanted as far as the design was concerned and from what I remember it tasted good - so in the end all turned out well. We just would of liked a better experience picking it out.

DELICIOUS! The cake looked and tasted phenomenal. There was never a rush to design the cake and we were never forced to stick with one concept. They welcomed all our ideas and tested some of our designs right there and then to help us better evaluate it. In the end, we came up with our perfect cake!

I got a 3-tier chocolate/vanilla/chocolate wedding cake from We Take The Cake. It was adorable and delicious. Several of my guests told me that it was the best wedding cake they've ever had. They catered to the small things that I wanted, such as the little birds that I purchased and wanted added to my cake. The cake was included in the price of my reception at The Addison.

I worked with Leah on our wedding cake. Our first appointment was a bust on her end as she allowed a late appointment to share ours, so I was pissed. She made up for it and invited us back for a private tasting. All the questions I asked her in our first appointment, were either not the right answer (because she was busy juggling both brides) or she brushed me off. In the end they upgraded us to fondant so I can have my crystal banding. The presentation was amazing and our guests LOVED how we offered 4 different flavors of cake. Very big of her to call herself out on her mistake and I respect that.

I recently had my wedding cake done by We take Cake. The cake was included in my wedding packages, however my husband and I opted to pay additional to rent a cake stand and have strawberries put in between the bottom layer of the cake. Our cake stand was beautiful. However, there were literally 3 sliced up strawberries for the whole bottom layer. On top of that, we had to be called to cut the cake halfway through our ceremony because it was about to fall over!!! Talk about an embarassement on what is supposed to be the best day of your life. When my husband returned the cake stand and asked them about the strawberries, they gave excuses. We were charged an extra $1 per slice for no strawberries (and they are in season!!!) No apologies were given for our leaning cake, or the lack of strawberries. No refund was given, not an apology- nothing. The lady didn't even care. Let me say I will never use this place or recommend this place to anyone. A great disappointment!!!! 9/10/10 After posting many reviews online, I finally got a call from a representative from the company... I was able to tell them how upset I was, give them a piece of mind and finally got the apology that I wanted. They also gave me a gift certificate for the amount spent for the strawberries which was nice, but unecessary because I got an apology.

We really didnt care so much about the cake, so went with a basic 3 tier soft frosted with red velvet, lemon, and vanilla/chocholate, and cream chesse frosting. It was unreal, my friends were trying to steal the cake from the guests that were dancing because it was so good. It was fun and easy to do the tasting and work with them, and they will even give you a cake to celebrate your 1 yr anniversary, so you can have the top all for yourself after the wedding! The ivory soft frosted looks a little yellow on the pictures with flash, but in real life looked perfect, off course my florist did an amazing job decorating it with flowers too, so the yellow didn't really matter much.

We Take The Cake was one of our venue package options, and I originally decided to go for a tasting because I remembered Oprah's past rave reviews. This cake was seriously the BEST cake I've ever had (and I try a lot of baked goods). We ultimately went with red velvet, and the accompanying cream cheese frosting was delicious. A big thank you especially to Leah who dligently worked with us to make our cake design inspiration a reality! Unfortunately we live too far away (in Boston) to visit regularly, but are already dreaming of our 1st anniversary cake. Thank you, We Take the Cake!

One of the most delicious cakes I've ever tasted (not being partial I swear!). We Take The Cake made the most outrageous 3 tiered cake for our wedding. We got to have a tasting of all available cakes and even made each tier different flavors. Our guests went wild for the strawberry cake. Utterly amazing! They decorated it beautifully. We are so happy we went with them and will use them in the future for sure!

We just loved our cake from We take the cake. We got red velvet with cream cheese icing and it was so delicious and beautiful. It is rare that a cake is both beautiful and delicious! We received many compliments from our guests on our cake.

My cake from WTTC was beautiful AND delicious. The cake was moist and flavorful and their cream cheese frosting is to die for. I will be getting all of my special occasion cakes from them now. My younger brother took a slice back to school with him in Gainesville and his friends RAVED about it-so much so that when they came to South Florida to visit, I had to get them some. They are the only baker I would ever consider using.

Aside from being gorgeous, it was soooo delicious. Guests kept telling me it was the best cake they had ever had at a wedding. It was moist, flavorful and perfect! We had about 30 out of town guests over the day after the wedding and everyone kept talking about the cake and they ended up pulling out my cake topper and eating it! They take pride in their work, produce a high quality product and they even give you a fresh cake top for your 1 year anniversary!

Delicious. If you love lemon flavor and cheesecake frosting you won't find a better wedding cake then "We Take the Cake". They have other great flavors but the lemon flavor is the one that my family fell in love with. Also everyone seemed to really enjoy it at the wedding, people were taking seconds!

We Take The Cake had some really amazing cakes to choose from. When were looking through the different designs and pictures, my husband and I were both in awe and were convinced that we were going to get our cake from them. Our guests must have had the same reaction when they saw the cake, because we got tons of compliments. It tasted awesome too!

Our cake was SOOO delicious!!! Lemon is the greatest flavor!!

We went to a few cake tastings and by far We Take the Cake was the most delicious! They were very professional and easy to work with. They had many options to choose from and we were able to find the cake that was perfect for us. We received so many compliments from our wedding guests that they loved the cake too!
